Hexagon cards

Hello! Hello!

I am so excited for the new CTMH products.  The catalog becomes official in 3 days!!  For my monthly club projects in August, we will be using three of the new stamp sets.  They are the Happy Hexagons, Honeycomb and Your Own Kind of Wonderful sets.  I have decided to use the new Whimsy color palette as well- nice and bright and summery! :). These stamp sets work well with the Cricut Artbooking cartridge.  I didn't cut any of the hexagons out using scissors.  I simply selected the size listed on the stamp set and pressed "Cut."

The first card above will be one that I do for my card clubs.  The second one is an experiment with autumn colors.

I am entering them into the Heart2Heart "Some Like It Hot" challenge, because I love these new HOT products :).

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you got some crafty inspiration! -Dari

2 Fun Cards

Hello! Hello! Happy Monday.  I really wanted to post these on Saturday, but Saturday was an especially busy day in my world :). On Friday, my sister and dear friend, Alayna, got together for some girl time.  I thought it would be fun to present them the challenge and have us all create something at the same time.  I wish I had taken photos of their creations.  Somehow, that part slipped my mind (lol).  It was really fun.  Pictured above are my two creations based on this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge 144.

For the Wishing you Happiness and Sunshine card I used:
CTMH White Daisy cardstock
CTMH Ariana damas print
CTMH Ariana outdoor denim cardstock
CTMH Outdoor Denim dye ink

CTMH You Lift Me Up stamp set
CTMH 3D Foam tape
Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge

Non CTMH products:
2 baby blue brad eyelets
Light Blue cardstock
White Pigment Ink
Embossing Gun

CTMH Copper Stud
CTMH Pansy Purple dye ink (retired) (Current- Smoky Plum)

CTMH Patriotic Layout

This layout is serving double duty.  We will be creating this next week at my monthly Scrapbooking Club, and I am entering it into the Heart2Heart Challenge: Red & White Daisy.
I am so happy with the way this layout turned out.  I created a background using CTMH's June 2014 Stamp of the Month in Desert Sand, Saddle and Sunflower yellow (retired).  I used CTMH's Artbooking Cricut Cartridge for the "4th", two frames, and the stars die cuts.  The rest is pretty self explanatory (I think).  If you have any questions, just ask! :).

CTMH products I used for this are:
White Daisy Cardstock
Kraft Cardstock
Dots embossing folder
June 2014 Stamp of the Month Set (Kaboom)
Cricut Artbooking cartridge
Dye Inks: Outdoor Denim, Saddle, Desert Sand, Cranberry, Sunflower (current match is Honey)

I am completely out of CTMH red and blue cardstocks.  Those paper colors came from cardstock packs I got at Michaels a year or so ago (don't know which brand/company).

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by. -Dari

Freshly Made Sketches challenge 143

Happy Monday!  I love the fourth of July. There are LOTS of traditions in my little town.  And yet, I must say that I am glad it is over :).

The Freshly Made Sketch challenge for this week truly was a bit of a challenge for me.  It is not a sketch I would choose/design on my own.  However, I really like the results I came up with.  I will be using this card for two events I have this month- an open house on Saturday and a Card Club later on in the month.

Close To My Heart products I used:
*White Daisy Cardstock cut into a 4.25x5.5 card base
*Dots embossing folder
*Skylark paper packet (print, sweet leaf green, lagoon)
*Desert Sand dye ink
*Saddle dye ink
*For a Friend stamp set D1542
*Hello Blooms stamp set C1540
*Bonding Glue Stick
*Non-stick micro-tip scissors
*3D foam tape
*Scrap of white daisy for stamped image

I also used a scrap of chocolate brown cardstock- origin unknown and George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge.

Happy Crafting! -Dari

CTMH Patriotic Banner

I love the way this turned out.  I wish you could see the whole banner better, but alas, the glare from the window didn't do it justice (lol). I finished it this afternoon.  Not a moment too soon, huh?  To make your own banner like mine you will need:
2  8.5x11 inch Dark blue cardstock papers
3 8.5x11 inch dark red cardstock papers
3  3.5 inch white circles
2 3 inch white circles
5 neutral 5 inch sunbursts-Artbooking cartridge (embossed and distressed)
CTMH June 2014 "Kaboom" Stamp of the Month Set.
CTMH Desert Sand dye ink
CTMH Outdoor denim dye ink
CTMH Cranberry dye ink
CTMH Barn Red dye ink
CTMH Sunflower or another yellow dye ink
CTMH Sky pigment ink
CTMH Dots embossing folder
CTMH foam tape
CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge

I created a stamped background on the cardstocks, distressed the embossed sunbursts, stamped images on the circles, and adhered with 3-D foam tape.  I used a basic hole punch for the holes and ran jute through the entire banner.  Wah Lah!  Hope you enjoy.

Happy Fourth! -Dari
